@billytalent360 Yes, you can – but you will be doing a LOT of clean up, and that much acetone can really be drying to your hands… check out my clean up tutorial, the before pics, to see how much polish ends up on the tape.
Instead of using tape is it possible to use acetone instead?
like clean it up with acetone later?
im goi to try this after i buy some tape lol
@insanelaughter3578 Actually I always use filtered water – tap does not work as well.
@frajos like just run on your tap and pour it in a glas. not hot or cold
@IronhidexoAndreaaa yes
does this work for short nails ?
@BeadlesBieber123 if you don’t use the tape you’ll have polish all over your finger to clean off. You can also use vaseline but I haven’t tried that way myself. If you don’t clean up the extra polish it will stick on top of your design & ruin it.
do you have to use the tape?? and when ur takin your finger out of the marbling do u have to get rid of the xtra polish cuz i dont have much polish to spare!
thanx
@balloonship I’ve never tried using vaseline – I’ve also read lotion can work – because it just seemed very messy to me, also easy to accidentally get on the nail & then have a spot the design would not stick. But it would be interesting to do a comparison. I procrastinate too much to promise anything but I’ll put it on my to-do list =)
I’ve seen a a couple of people suggesting vaseline on water marbling nail tutorials. Does it work as well as using tape? So far I’ve only seen vids of people using tape but not vaseline. I was hoping if you could try it out & if possible make a tutorial? I’m sure there are tonnes of other people like me who wants to see this done. I love your nail marbling vids btw.
@frajos Well, not hot & not cold. I’m guessing it’s usually around 70-75 degrees in my room.
wat do you mean room temp ?
I use room temperture filtered water – it’s always worked well for me so I’m really not sure how using hot or cold would affect the polish. HTH =)
ive checked out all ur videos but maybe i missed it..but what is the best water to use? hot.cold.roomtemp?
Thank you, yes they are =) I usually post some “Naked Nails” pics around once a month on my blog with tips on maintenance & stuff.
very helpful. thank ya ma’am.
are your nails natural? cuz if the are they are beautiful. my left hand is looking about like that.
That sounds like it would work really good, you wouldn’t have to be so careful how deep you dip your finer.
Thanks for this tutorial. Worked a treat. I have just seen another video and if you still get polish all over your hands, wear disposable gloves with the tips cut off, and then tape off the nails. Should be lessy messy.
I haven’t myself, but I know other people have good results with it … I think it comes down to personal preference, I like the tape so I haven’t experimented =)
Thanks. Have you ever used vaseline instead?
You always make everything look so easy! That’s true talent!
just “found” you and subbed. i really like your tutorials! you inspire me to try this out. it looks so easy and fun. thank you!
