PART 1 As stated before I LOVE YELLOW lol, Its my favorite color, and since I was celebrating my anniversary Friday, Saturday, and this Sunday, I decided to do my nails Thursday. I did them yellow and decided to wear yellow all this weekend to match my nails, because I didn’t want to re-paint them again till next week. Also I added nail tips to my nails because I wanted them a little longer for this design. Let me know what you think & Thanks for watching.

Hey guys this is my video entry to configure1973 valentines contest. Good luck to those who have entered :] Yes, I know, I’ve been working with pink a lot lately but after this week, I’ll post up more nail designs with different colours. Yup, the nails are not real haha, it’s my 10 minutes fake nails ;D It could actually last for a whole day.

Working within a salon environment can be the best option for many nail technicians. As the nail industry is constantly gaining in popularity, more and more salons are looking into expanding their services by offering nail treatments. However, hairdressers cannot usually perform nail treatments to a high standard because they have not been trained properly. That is why there is a demand for nail technicians.

Nail technicians can offer more treatments and the results will be of a higher quality too. This will encourage clients to come back and the salon will make more profit in the long run. However, is working in a salon the best option for a nail technician?

Things to Think About

If you are considering working for a salon then you need to stop and think about what it will involve.

The main thing that you need to think about is whether the job will give you the flexibility that you need. Do you have small children? If so then you may find that there are times that you need to be there for them. Would a job within a salon allow you to drop everything when it is needed? The likely answer to that is no. You will not have any independence working in a salon and your hours and rate of pay are decided for you. You also have no say over what treatments are offered, though some salon owners may be open to suggestions.

Before you apply for a salon job you will need to ensure that you have a good CV. If you are unsure how to create a CV then pop along to your local library and there will be many books there to guide you. You could pay a trip to your local hairdressing salon to see if they currently have any vacancies available or you could look in local newspapers and online for suitable vacancies.

Be prepared if you get an interview. Some salon owners may want to test your abilities by giving you a trade test. You will have to perform various treatments in order to show the interviewer what you can do. One thing that you could do is take before and after pictures of treatments that you have performed for previous clients (if you have experience obviously). You could also think of nail treatments that the salon could offer and let them know at the interview your ideas to make them more profit.

Overall working within a salon environment can be a good option if you do not want the hassle of setting up a business. However, you will need qualifications and possibly some experience if you are to work in a salon. So it could be a good idea to perform treatments on friends and family members and take pictures of before and after the treatment. That way you will have something to show if you do get called up for an interview.
